The Mount Mulanje Porters Race

Are you strong and adventurous enough? Then Mount Mulanje Porters race is an ideal challenge for you.

Originally, the Porters race was a competition limited to porters and guides (who escort tourists up the mountain). Later, it became an annual event attracting any interested runner male or female above 18 years of age who feel fit enough to run in a rocky and rough route up the mountain for a distance of about 25 km.

The race starts at Likhubula Forest Office and goes up to Chambe Plateau, about 2500m above the sea level, before proceeding(via the plateau) to Lichenya Plateau and back to Likhubula. For more information, contact Mulanje Mountain Conservation Trust.

The Bwato Race
